Summer Season
The Bloomington Youth Lacrosse Association is a community-based organization committed to promoting and developing youth lacrosse in Bloomington. We offer programs for boys and girls of all skill levels, providing quality coaching, training, and competitive opportunities. Our mission is to foster a love for the sport, build teamwork and sportsmanship, and create a positive and inclusive environment for all participants.
Players
Teams are organized by age. This follows the USA Lacrosse age-eligible guidelines.

NOTE: 9th graders will not be allowed to participate in BYLA.
The U14 age segment was extended 3 months to make sure older 8th graders could play.
Season
Season begins with spring practices starting in April (weather permitting). Games start in June and playoffs are at the end of July.
Practices
Lacrosse activities take place Monday through Thursday.
- U8 & U10 will practice 2 times a week (1 hour), depending on game schedules
- U12 will practice 2 times a week (1.5 hours), depending on game schedules
- U14 may practice up to 3 times a week (1.5 hours), depending on game schedules

Games
- Game schedule is controlled by the league
- Days of the week can vary between Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays
- Teams will have 1 to 2 games a week

YLM Jamboree

MSLax State Tournament

*There may be opportunities for additional tournaments for some teams.
Registration Fees
Bloomington fees cover payments to the coaching staff, referees, uniforms, tournament fees, league fees, purchase and repair of equipment such as goalie nets, balls, cones, goalie gear, long sticks (for LSM and defense players), time clocks, scorer's table, scoreboards, and first aid kits.

USA Lacrosse Membership
Each child playing organized lacrosse in the United States is required to pay a membership fee to USA Lacrosse. This fee covers the Umbrella Insurance policy for all lacrosse programs in the United States. The fee also covers other aspects of the USA Lacrosse organization.
The USA Lacrosse fee is $30 per player annually. (Your membership must be valid through July 31st, 2025)
